That classic category of “What I Wore in a Week” with the less classic addition of “….sort of” on the end. The “sort of” is because I took these pictures over the course of 2 weeks, and I lost my way in terms of days and chronology. But it’s definitely me, and these are definitely my clothes, so I think it still counts.
Anyways, I’m not sure anyone really cares, on the grand scheme of things, about what I wear in a week, but I committed to it, and so here we are, attempting to serve inspiration. Please do let me know if there is any part of you that thinks this is a good idea, as otherwise I will quite happily never do it again. There’s only so many looking at pictures of themselves this woman can take, and she’s at her limit.
Oh and I’ve tried to link what I can (not much!) but if you’re after anything I can probably track down a good dupe.
Here we go…
Monday
Honestly, I love this pair of jeans. They’re comfortable and the shape alone is enough of a twist to keep it interesting. The denim is soft and they let my waist be known without being restrictive. They go nicely with flats and the selection of basic T-shirts that I favour on weekdays. For my wardrobe, they are well worth the splurge (though I have found some similar that come recommended - haven’t tried them on myself)
Tuesday
This was for in person meetings by day, and dinner and drinks by night. A crisp white shirt (as it was when I initially donned it, late at night, as here, not so much) always lends itself well day to night. A staple.
Wednesday
Nipped to The Big Sainsbury’s for an emergency tub of Halo Top, but hey, that’s an uneventful Wednesday for you. Everyone knows about Halo Top, don’t they? Almost ice cream but not as calorie dense as the Ben and Jerry’s stuff. One tub = one sitting though, let’s not pretend otherwise.
Thursday
This was a funny old day - I was in Birmingham for meetings by day but had dinner plans in London by night, PLUS it was the only hotter than hell days we have had this “summer”, so I brought an outfit change. As it happened, dinner rolled on a little - hence this thoroughly bedraggled photo taken around 2am.
Friday - Day
This season’s take on the Canadian Tuxedo, and heavily influenced by Sheerluxe Editor-in-Chief Charlotte Collins – a forever style crush. Worked well for the inclement weather – although I was only moseying to a local coffee shop for a change of WFH scenery.
Friday - PM
This one was for a long and languorous dinner - WITH A MAN!! - in a neighbourhood Italian, and a nightcap on the way home. It was about time this dress had an outing and while I certainly need to become better acquainted with my ironing board, I still felt a million dollars. Thoroughly risky business, for me, to be eating food and wearing white, but the dress survived unscathed. (Also – hand prints on the mirror? In the words of the tabloid newspapers: OOO- ERRR!!….Fair play to their owner, I say, and their act of rebellion, whatever it was….)
Saturday
This was my chosen get up for park drinks with friends and their cumulative 12 000 children. My picnic game was not strong - tins of Gordons G&T, half a baguette and some hummus in my bag - but my trouser game was.
Sunday
The rain and the lighting situation have conspired to do me dirty here – I promise my hair didn’t look like I’d been electrocuted in real life, and as for the stern face - its what god gave me, I’m afraid. This was what I wore for a mooch around the shops with my mum, who has landed in London Town for a few days. I learned the hard way that I didn’t have enough clothes on, but I felt dang good in this all the same.
Monday
This is was what I flew to Belfast in, and what I actually wore to the meeting that I attended while there, and then the costume change back to the vest for the return leg. It’s a little trick I’ve learned from many many one day wonder trips back and forth – to change en route so that I don’t arrive hot and bothered. The silk shirt was smart for the meeting, and I do love it. The airport mirror is distorting something, but I’m not mad about it.
Tuesday
I was tired here, but wanted to feel put together, despite the torrential rain so went for the full skirt and shirt.
Summer, where art thou, ye rascal.
Thats a wrap on the sartorial moments so far this month. I’m ready to break out the high summer wardrobe any time, but such is life. If y’all like this post, I’ll commit to making it a once monthly thing, but let’s see, shall we?
Back in your inboxes on Sunday
Thanks for reading
Big love

I love this for the commentary around each outfit. It was the hand prints on the mirror which killed me 🫣🤣
You look fabulous! I adore the white dress. Honestly, I think we all know what the handprints are about don’t we?
