Three Simple Ways To Get Dressed For Work
As I now spend more (too much?) time working, I bring to you three simple ways to feel less downtrodden sleep deprived subordinate, and more high achieving, nailing the brief top dog.
I have been feeling the strain this past few weeks - working a lot of hours, house shenanigans and getting over that nasty bug - so today is a quick run though a few work looks that I reach for when I don’t want to have to think about what I am wearing, but still want to feel like I have my shizzle together. Back on Sunday as normal, I do hope, so until then, here we are!
Animal Print
Always a classic and always brings a touch of something lovely. I’m fussy about my preferred leopard print though - the tone, the print size, the ratio of black. Rixo do it fantastically well (the blouse, skirt and dress on the lower right are all from there) and this fine knit polo from Cos will be a winner for years to come. Anine Bing has just released a collection of leopard print goodness, with everything from tops to swimwear, which is, as an aside, very very good. Oh and & Other stories have this statement offering if you’re after something a little bolder.
Ties
I’ve taken to ties to update my existing, extensive, shirt collection. My advice is to layer up on jewellery, and going high glam with make up, as there is a risk that it ends up giving waiter/waitress, but even so it is a look I am very much enjoying. I bought this 100% silk pink one from Vinted, where there are countless options - do not overlook there if you’re on the search. That said this one caught my eye for a more preppy look too.
Tailored shorts
I am thrilled - THRILLED - to get back into these. I intend to brave it with bare legs, balanced with a chunky knit and heels, very very soon.

These from Zara aren’t quite hitting the city shorts brief, but are worth a second look for office wear give the sheer volume of outfits they may form the basis of.
I’m hoping to get back into the swing of photographing what I am wearing as you folks seemed to like that. Please bear with me as I ride through this current life (mini) storm - I do hope to see you on the other side.
Thanks for being hear

Hugs 🤗
Thanks for the inspiration, Una! I wore my favourite leopard print shirt yesterday - oversized from Zara and at least 10 years old. Wishing you a smoother ride in the coming days.
