If this post seems rushed - it is because it is. I am flying by the seat of my selection of pictured pants, this week, and so I am heavy on photos and light on text, which is not the way I like it, but you folks seem to enjoy the wardrobe updates, so please do knock yourself out with this one.
Also, consider this a final farewell to the lift selfies. There will be a change of scenery from next month on. This is not, I hasten to add, me being mysterious, dallying with allure, or even a cack-handed attempt to be coquettish, but a case of having no idea what the next few months will look like. I do know that I own 60 extra large cardboard boxes - physical baggage, with only a dash of the emotional stuff these days.
Anyway, here’s the clothes…
Not changing my spots
Lil bit of leopard print goes a long way. The shorter one was a wardrobe rediscovery, from Arket ages ago. The longer one is a relatively new Zara addition (still available). I intend to wear both with tights (urgh), boots, blazers and coats in the coming months too.
Sort of dates
A few dates this month, but saving that craic for Sunday, so do get on the subscribe list to hear about it. For now, it is just the outfits. That red Rixo dress works HARD for me. The boots and long cardigan felt a bit sexier than I usually present - my standard approach is “I don’t want this person to think for a second that I want him to be attracted to me” as I strive for nonchalant, rather than giving a toss. However, I had a conversation with a friend a while ago and she described her look for dates as “full hoe” so I thought I might just lean into that a bit more. It doesn’t feel particularly me. As for the silver shorts, I think I like the idea of them more than the execution, but perhaps will get them on again with a knit and a boot and see.
Work
I had a few in person work things this month, and rather enjoyed getting spuced up for them. The camel cape is still in stock in Arket, as is a version of the stripe shirt. The yellow top I will swoon about more on Sunday but comes in allllll of the colours and I think everyone should own at least one, if not seven of them. I will wear it with the sequin skirt featured below, too. Also, a shout out to the grey trousers - have been wearing them for years and own them in brown and navy too. They are the Cos wide leg wool trousers, and have that little adjustable in the inside waist thing going on, which I appreciate AND they look more than decent with trainers. As far as work trousers go, I rate them highly - if anyone has tried the Me &Em ones as well as these I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Sequins
I had a few reasons to go to out-out this month and decided to get my sequins on, because, well just. It felt GOOD. The yellow skirt is a Zara number that I actually wore to celebrate my birthday earlier in the year, and came across the image on Pinterest of someone very cool wearing it and tried to recreate. Not quite the same, but close-ish. The pink corsage number is Self Portrait, and I am determined to wear it in Paris before the year is out. I just don’t know how or when. Yet.
Just being alive
On those no big deal, here there and everywhere days and nights. Nothing new, stuff that is usually on heavy rotation. Leather and denim is a combination I am enjoying, and I have a few recommendations also coming your way on Sunday for that. I was quite fond of the wide legged metallic trousers and grey t-shirt combo, but I don’t feel that the photo shows them in their best light. And as you can see the pedal pushers are going nowhere. And as you can also see my relationship with my iron has not improved - we remain estranged.
I will try to link dupes if there us anything you are wondering about, so let me know!
Right, I’m going back to tackle my baggage (physical, this time).
Sunday is the monthly roundup - a lot going on, and I promise at least some of it is interesting.
Until then
Big love
Una
